Stoikite is situated in the Western Rhodopes, where a number of caves are located, including Devil’s Throat, Haramyiska and Yagodinkska.
The Devil’s Throat Cave is 1 km from the village of Trigrad in the marvellous Trigrad Gorge.
The cave is well lit and has many spectacular features such as a long corridor, which opens up into an enormous gallery. Its size is compared to that of the Alexander Nevski Cathedral in Sofia.
Visit the cave in the spring and you will see one of the highest underground waterfalls in Europe (42m).
The entrance fee for the cave is around 4 leva (2 euros). Tours only commence in groups of 5-6 people. Warm clothes and waterproof shoes are recommended as the cave is a damp and chilly 8°C (40°F) all year round.
