Travel to Pamporovo via Sofia and Plovdiv
Bulgaria is easy to get to with direct flights from many major airports throughout the UK and EU. The main airport SOFIA International, is serviced by the major carriers from the EU. PLOVDIV Airport further south and closer to Pamporovo resort, is a regional airport serviced by low cost carriers from LGW, East midlands and others in the UK and EU. Flight time approx 3:20 UK to Bulgaria.
Booking flights ahead, or sometimes last minute, you can find deals for less than €100 per ticket round trip. With shorter notice, peak season tickets are more like €150 to €400.

Travelling from SOFIA Airport to PAMPOROVO Resort
Having landed in Sofia you will travel south on major highways towards Plovdiv and then through the mountains to Pamporovo. This distance is just 245km.
By Car: Sofia to Pamporovo, Stoikite is about 250km (about 3-4 hrs depending on stops).
A hire car can be as little as €80 plus fuel (now around €0.97/ltr) per week with most major rental companies.
By Coach: Sofia to Pamporovo, is about 4-4.5 hrs and is a very inexpensive way to travel (about €21 return). The coaches are modern and air-conditioned.
There are usually spaces but it is a good idea to book in advance and we can help you with this if you require it.
By Taxi: Depending on stops, the drive from Sofia to Pamporovo is 3-4 hrs . The easiest transfer is, of course, by taxi.
We recommend Pamporovo Cars -tried & tested. At around €210 from Sofia to Pamporovo return, they are excellent value offering a good, reliable service.
Travelling from PLOVDIV Airport to PAMPOROVO Resort
Plovdiv is approximately half way between Sofia and Pamporovo and therefore the prices of COACH and TAXI are almost exactly half those indicated above. The hire car (in our opinion, the best option) is great in terms of saving time (and fuel will be less)!
