“We stayed here (my wife and I with our three children). The location: If you plan to visit different attractions all over the Rhodopi Mountains then this place is located more or less in the middle of everything (an hour drive from the ‘Bridges of Wonder’, Bachkovo on the west , same distance from Yagodina and Trigrad caves on the east and very close to Pamprovo, Shiroka Laka,etc…). The house is located close to the outskirts of the village so you can also just walk out for wonderful hikes. There is a very nice view from the apartment both to the village and to the mountain side. In Stoykite there are three restaurants (so I have heard, we have visited two that were good), a grocery store and an ATM (not many places in these areas receive credit cards), and in nearby Shiroka Laka (10 min drive) there are additional shops and restaurants. The apartment: It has everything you need for a homey family stay. The living room is large the overall design is warm and cosy, the kitchen is well equipped. It has two bathrooms. We enjoyed the fireplace very much (more for the atmosphere then for the heat) 🙂 Breakfast: You get some groceries (yogurt, eggs, fruits, vegetables, milk serials/granola, bread, butter) to prepare it yourself. We sent a Whatsapp message every morning with products we needed refilled for the next day and nothing was missing. The hosts: The owners that happened to be there when we visited (Timothy and Colleen) and the hostess (Yoana) were lovely and kind. They made sure we had everything we needed and were helpful with information on sites, weather, restaurants, events etc. For the non-Bulgarian speakers – Yoana speaks very good English and Russian.”

The apartment itself is located 10 minutes away from the Stoykite lift which is great if you’re skiing. The house is very well equipped with kitchen appliances and the furniture is very nice and comfortable. Even if you’re not skiing the area around Stoykite is very beautiful with great places to see and experience the local culture and cuisine. We’re really hoping to go back some day.”

“Truly amazing place!! I went there with a group of friends for the weekend and we were left literally speechless from the very moment we walked through the door. A couple of weeks in advance I reveived a call from Timothy and he told me that he aims to create a cozy, homely atmosphere and told me that the fireplace would be already lit when we arrive and that the fridge would be packed with everyday essentials like milk, eggs, ham, vegetables etc. And that’s how it really was. That was a really nice gesture and wasn’t left unnoticed!! The little village where the apartment is located is the perfect definition of the word picturesque. Only thing we could hear from the balcony were the songs of the birds coming from the forest which is no more than 50 meters away. The view from the balcony is astonishing. The facilities in the flat – absolutely spot on. It has everything you need! And all of it is BRAND new. It felt like we were the first guests ever. The flat was also packed with all sorts of crockery, cutlery and all that stuff. I really really recommend this place!! You won’t regret it. Will definitely go back there again in the near future! The one and only downside was that there was no internet connection. However, in a place like this one, you really do not need the internet. It’s just so beautiful and peaceful. Total relaxation! (Ed note: We now have high speed internet-perfect for streaming films on the big screen TV.)“

“Impressive Cave in The Rhodopes Mountains” Reviewed 30 June 2012 Very interesting long cave with two exits. Deep in the Rhodopes Mountains amongst beautiful nature, not far from a quiet village with a lot of guest houses with friendly hosts and very good local cuisine.
